Islam and denominations:

              It has been argued by some non-Muslim friends that there are many denominations in the religion of Christianity yet this division in Christianity does not exceed as Shia and Sunni bomb blasts in mosques.  Why do not Muslims have a sense of tolerance among Muslims?  How could Muslim preach the world about peace, harmony and coexistence while they do not have peace between themselves?  These are some of frequently asked questions about prevailing situations of Muslim world today. Some Christian missionary people have been trying to create doubt and suspension about Islam with these questions.  As if Islam is religion of violence and intolerance. Some time they take some Quranic verses out of context in support of their arguments. Most probably they refer to actions of Al-Qaeda and ISIS in support of their arguments.

            These types of questions have been asked many times. There is a difference between theory and practice in all religions. Islam and Muslims are not exceptional to this generally prevailing condition of humanity.

     The religion of Christianity has been portrayed as only peaceful religion in the world. The followers of Christianity have been portrayed as always have been peaceful people and yet if we   read the history of Christianity we would be surprised to see how many millions people have been killed in conflicts between Roman Catholics and Protestants. Medieval Europe was full of religious wars between RC and Protestants. Just read through European wars of religion to see this. The Holy Roman Empire was full of wars for Eighty year from (1568 -1648).  The French wars of religions from (1562-1598) killed many thousands.  Many wars like these took place between different denominations of Christianity. Yet, today it is peaceful religion of Islam has been portrayed as a religion of intolerance. Of course there were some Shia and Sunni conflicts took place in Islamic history as well but it was not as we have seen between Christianity. 

        EU history tells us how Protestants killed millions of Roman Catholics. Moreover, how many millions were killed in WW1 and WW 11, more than 50 Million people were killed. Who killed them? Is it Muslims or so called Christians? How many Millions were killed by Hitler? Was he a Muslim or a Christian? How many Millions were killed in Slave trades by colonial powers? These so called Christians traded with slaves of Africa and West indies. Millions people were killed in these trade on sea and land. We cannot see that Christianity has always been peaceful religion in the past. Consider Muslim history of Spain… What happened to Muslims in Spain?

            At the end of war in Spain Christian people gave Muslims three choices. Either to convert to Christianity or to migrate to North Africa or otherwise, they would to be killed? This was how Christians treated Muslims in Spain. Yet, look how Muslim treated Christians in history.  For the 1400 years Christians and Jews have been living with Muslims in Muslim land. By law Muslims should protect non-Muslims who live with Muslims and yet, what Christians did for Muslim minorities in Spain and in recent time in Balkan wars. They wiped Muslims out of their land.

          This is the sense of tolerance Christianity is preaching.  Please do not judge Islam because of the actions of some fanatics acting in the name of Islam. After all, ISIS is a creation of America. This proxy Muslim group was created with support of Mossad to make mayhem among Muslims.

           I agree that we have some religious dispute among Muslims but yet no way it is similar to the differences between denominations in Christianity. Although we have differences yet we have more similarities between us. We are united in basic doctrines of Islam. The basic concepts such as unity of one God, one last prophet and day of judgement are same for all Muslims.  We all pray to one God, we all face one direction in our prayer and we all follow one prophet. Yet, see the differences in Christianity. The changed the entire concept of God and they changed the very notion of religion.
