Egyptian Kangaroo court puts president Morsi on trial - Part 1

(Dr Rifai -UK)

What a twist of justice is this? A democratically elected president has been put on trial while the former president who ruled the Egypt for more than 30 years with the dictatorship and despotism enjoys freedom and royal treatment in the military hospital of Egypt. The dictator who ruled Egypt against the wishes of people is immune from the rule of law. The man who looted more than $80 billions of Egyptian wealth is free today from any form of punishment and yet, president Morsi who was elected with the majority of votes with the full support of people has been taken into court on the pretext of some false accusations.

Mubarak killed thousands of people during the demonstration by sending his thugs and gangsters and yet, he was not yet properly punished for his crimes. It was his army and military supporters killed thousands of demonstrators. Thugs are still murdering innocent people of Egypt who demand some solid political reformations in the country. People of Egypt have suffered lots in the hands of military juntas and political dictators. They have had enough of these corrupted political leaders who cheated them for many decades. In the name of politics these politicians and their military leadership made their fortune by exploiting and robbing the wealth of this nation. Today the Egyptian economy is controlled and monopolised by these thugs. They will never allow any political reformation or political change. They will never want to have a democratic Egypt. All what they want is to have some sort of military rule so that they could have a comfortable life at the expense of millions of people in this country.

What exactly taking place in Egypt today is a struggle between the truth and falsehood, between the honesty and deception, between justice and injustice and between aggression and fairness? The forces of evil want to prevail over the forces of truth and justice and yet, at the end the forces of falsehood will be defeated by the forces of the truth and legitimacy. The entire world knows what happened in Egypt is a political robbery at gun points by the military juntas. To overthrow a legitimately elected government is a crime.

It is a crime and treason against the Egyptian nation. The entire population of Egypt should stand against this injustice. No human soul with any sense of self conscience will accept this time of political robbery. This is really a political deception in every sense. All those who support this military coup are agents and cohorts of these corrupted political thugs. Sisi was appointed by the president and he has been dishonest and disloyal to the president who appointed him.  This would not have happened unless the remnants of Mubarak urged him to topple the President Morsi. This overthrowing was illegitimate and unlawful in every sense.

Of course some internal and external political forces acted dishonestly to overthrow this legitimate government of President Morsi.   It is apparent that each and every gulf country is ruled today by some political dictators of some sorts. They would never and ever support any legitimate and democratic government in the Middle East. They know very well that if Egypt gets a political freedom and reformation the entire gulf region will follow the footsteps of Egypt to free them from the grip of political slavery. It is well established fact that people in the gulf region live under a strict political slavery in this modern time.

Unlike in the past, today people are very much familiar with concept of political freedom, freedom of expression, basic human rights and democratic rights. They are no longer ready to live like slaves in their own countries. Arabs have been subjected to all sort of political slavery and subjugation. Today they longer wanted to live in this type of slavery under these despotic political thugs. For this reason, self proclaimed royal families and princes feared for their political survivals and they covertly and overtly opposed democratically elected Egyptian government of president Morsi.  They openly supported the military juntas to overthrow the democratically elected president against the wishes of Egyptian people.

What more saddening is that some salafi groups played vital role in this military coup and these so called self proclaimed Islamic groups did not have profound geopolitical knowledge to grasp the challenges that Egypt faces today.  With their narrow-minded and literalistic approaches to the teaching of Islam they opposed the president Morsi and supported the military juntas to overthrow the elected president.  This shows the ineptitude of these so called Salafis in politics and incomprehensive understanding of this religion. For these dogmatic and literalistic groups Islam is all about some dogmatic problems and some legalistic issues. They have failed to grasp the magnitude of the challenges and problems that Egypt faces today.

Politically Egypt has been ruled by some modern pharaohs. Economically Egypt is in the brink of bankruptcy and yet, rich in its human resources unlike any other countries in the Middle East regions. It is reported that more 80% of people live below the poverty line and more than 70% of youths are unemployed and Egypt is facing huge economic and social challenges today than any time in history. These problems are aggravated by the cruel dictatorships and corrupted military leadership. These people have had the habit of looting public wealth and money while millions of poor Egyptians are starving and struggling to survive.

These pathetic conditions demand some radical political reformation and restructuring. Egyptian Experience tells us people have no confidence and hope in the military leadership of Egypt. The military leadership should not have any political affiliation or biasness at all. Politics should be free from any political interference   and meddling. Unfortunately, the Post independence Egyptian history tells us that Egyptian military has had the bad habit of meddling in politics and this should be stopped sooner rather than later. Otherwise, people in Egypt will suffer a lot in the hands of this corrupted military leadership. This political reformation is timely needed urgent issues today in Egypt to free these poor Egyptian people from the continuous tyranny of military leadership. Who could do this political reformation process.  Today Egypt needs people like Mosses to free people from the grip of this ruthless military hegemony.

Fawaz Gerges predicts that Islamic forces are poised to take the political power in a number of Arab countries.  He argues that moderate Islamists are poised to come to power because they are centrists and accept the procedure of modern democratic game. (Fawaz.A. Gerges. P.389). His contention is that moderate Islamic movements dominate the socio-political and economic institutions of Muslim world today  ( to be continued next week.)
