கொழும்பில் 35 பாடசாலைகள் மூடப்படுகின்றன - விபரம் இணைப்பு

The government has decided to shut down 35 schools in Colombo temporarily from November 6-19 in view of the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting, to implement a comprehensive security plan for the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) to be held in November this year.

Education Ministry release said the schools - as listed - would be shut down in order to accommodate the officers involved in providing security during the period of the Commonwealth conference.  

A comprehensive security plan would be implemented to ensure security for the high profile diplomats who are expected to visit the country during the Commonwealth meeting, including world leaders and foreign diplomats.

He added that  the school Principals will conduct extra lessons for their students during the scheduled dates, as discussed.

Schools to be closed are as follows:
