Sri Lanka wins "Outsourcing Destination of the Year" award

Sri Lanka has been awarded the prestigious 'Outsourcing Destination of the Year' award by the National Outsourcing Association (NOA) of United Kingdom.

The award ceremony was held at the Park Plaza Riverbank Hotel in London on 23rd October.

Fiji and Serbia were the other shortlisted entries vying for the title with Sri Lanka.

Celebrating its 10th anniversary, the NOA award recognizes best practice in outsourcing projects, and reward end-users, suppliers, advisors and destinations. The SLASSCOM, the local IT-BPO and knowledge service industry chamber pitched for this award for the last three consecutive years.

The winning of this award is seen as a testament of the industry's potential and more specifically of the growing visibility of the Sri Lankan IT and Knowledge Services Industry.

Sri Lanka ranks among the Top 25 Global Outsourcing destinations and acts as an off-shore development centre and joint venture development centre to several Fortune 500 companies and industry leaders from the North American continent, Great Britain, Australia, Sweden, Norway, and Japan.
