Niqab and Muslims in Europe
(DR RIFAI.UK)
It has been argued that some NHS trusts and courts in the UK will stipulate some sorts of ban on wearing the Niqab dress code in the work place. Human rights groups argue that this is an infringement of basic human right of Muslim ladies who wear their religious dress code in their work places:
The Home office Minister has already demanded a national debate on this issue. One judge asked already ordered a Muslim lady to take off her full veil when she was giving evidence in court. Some colleges and NHS hospital are planning impose a ban on full veil. It is expected that UK government might impose some sort of ban on full veils as French did in 2010. Otherwise, government might give permission and approval to ban wearing full veil at own discretion of each department.
Of course there are difference opinions on this issue. Some Islamic scholars argue that women should wear full veil covering her face and hands while others argue that face and hands are not parts of Awra. It is up women to whichever Islamic dress codes they want to wear and it would be an infringement of their basic human right to deny them of this basic right.
Of course in some circumstances it would not be viable to cover face as in case of medical examination and giving evidence in courts. These are exceptional situations. It is fundamental rights of Muslim women to wear whatever Islamic dress code they want to wear. It is ironical to say that this society do not object when they see full or half naked women on the public places and yet, they do not want to see full veil ladies who want to protect their modesty in public. So called democratic rights and religious freedom would become meaningless in these countries very soon
Please note this photo to know how social norm changes in Europe. At the beginning of this century the some royal family members did wear full veil to display their modesty and yet, today it is wearing full veil by Muslim ladies are regarded as outdated and backward practice. Yet, when it was done by royal families in Europe it was a pure modesty. What a social hypocrisy is this?
