It was held at Puthuppalli at Nawalar road and Taffs road intersection. These two roads have been renamed later.

When Quazi M.M.Sultan was the mayor of Jaffna, the Australian High commissioner visited Jaffna. During his
meeting with the mayor at the Jaffna municipal council, the High commissioner presented the mayor a book called
"The Glorious Quran". The picture shows the presentation.
